Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor, producer and director. Her work has been recognized for films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. She has won numerous awards for her work and has even won an Oscar. The path to acting began on Broadway with a variety of Broadway as well as Off Broadway productions. From the time she was a child she's always been enthusiastic about performing. She was Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school play. The actress was deaf in one ear after suffering from mumps but did not let this disability dampen her determination to become an actor. As a teenager, Hunter studied drama and then moved to New York City. Hunter was trapped in an elevator with playwright Beth Henley when she met her. Together they created Broadway Crimes of the Heart that marked the debut of Hunter on Broadway. Hunter relocated from New York to Los Angeles and tried to get films roles. For Swing Shift, she landed the role of a back-up. She has since appeared in a variety of television series and movies in a long career that spans more than three decades. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and also the Women in Film Lucy Award.
